AVALANCHE OBSERVATIONS
No. Location Date Size Type Trigger Aspect Elevation Comments
Comments: First day with good visibility and it didn't disappoint. Several D3 avalanches from the West Fork of the Bigwood, to Kent Peak, widespread carnage in Eagle Creek and on down to Goat Peak in the Pioneers and along Hyndman Creek. Kellam also reported large D3? slides off the north side of Weather Station and Bromaghin as well as Cabin and Beaver Creek (more east-facing). Several crowns over 1500' wide and one on Eagle creek up to 4500' wide. Most looked to be 3-5' deep. In a few pictures it appears that slabs step down into deeper layers. Crowns are both along ridges and mid bowl. I've seen slides on all aspects yesterday and today, but heavy on the SW-S-SE aspects.
