General Information

(11/20/20) This avalanche failed on a northeast facing sope below Williams peak at 9,600'. Based on the depth of the crown, it likely failed on older snow that fell before the recent series of storms. The crown on the left has been partially filled in by sluffing from above. Note the deep crack further right in the photo. This likely opened at the same time as the crown on the left, but the slab arrested and did not slide.
