General Information

A collection of avalanches including shallower wind slabs and deeper persistent slabs on the E-face of Peak 2 in the Soldier Mountains. Crowns spanned the entire bowl. Some sections of the crown are highlighted with red arrows. E to SE facing slopes at 9,200'.

Soldier Mtn Ski Patrol reported these slides in the backcountry near the ski area. It was in a heavily wind-loaded area, and the crown was estimated at around 4 feet. This path frequently produces large avalanches and has not released this year before this event.
