Mostly driving observations today from the Little Wood River and Soldier Creek. I glassed some impressive very large avalanches in the Pioneer mountains occurring on south facing slopes. Everything else was mostly loose slides on steep, south facing slopes.

Looking into Warm Springs from the top of Baldy, many wet loose avalanches occurred in the last 48 hours. I didn't see any slab avalanches, but likely missed some in between all of the loose activity. I was only up there until noon, so missed any activity in the heat of the day.
The Little Wood River area had evidence of the past avalanche cycle in mid-March on N and E-facing slopes in the lower elevations. A couple of wet loose avalanches were released likely this morning. The East Fork of the Big Wood had three very large avalanches that likely occurred yesterday on SE-S-SW facing slopes in the middle to upper elevations. The slides looked similar to the one on Grays Peak from yesterday.
The Soldier mountains had no recent slab avalanches as of 1700 hr and only had a few loose avalanches from the last 48hrs on south facing slopes. None of the slides were big enough to bury a person. There were fresh snowmobile tracks hitting some of the E-SE facing bowls in the cat skiing area.
No formal observations today.
