Sorry that this is two days late! Poked around in the snow on a SSE and a WNW at 8,800' (either side of a ridge). On the WNW, we found a super deep snowpack (265 cm). We didn't dig all the way to the bottom but the top meter and a half felt like a very consolidated slab. On the SSE pit the snow depth was only 67 cm. It was a crust layer cake. We found crusts at 65 cm, 56 cm, 47 cm, and 18 cm. We found well developed depth hoar near the bottom (see photo). We also found facets in between the crusts. There was an icy layer at the bottom in some places.
