Skied some great cold snow! Dug a pit at 8,150' on a 22 degree WNW slope and got the following results: snow depth 100 cm. CT 23 at ground. CT 25 at 75 cm continued on and got CT 27 at 65 cm (these were both visible crust layers). Did not break planar. When we when to try to pull that second layer off the whole column keeled over from the bottom. Worth noting that we were doing the tests with kids and they were the ones actually hitting the shovel so take these with a grain of facets.
