today we thought we would try skiing a south aspect, hoping the snowpack would be more baked an consolidated. but we found the same persistent weak layer we have been seeing and hearing about on all the north aspects.
We saw 2 avalanches that we assume happened yesterday on the steep rollover on the ridge to the east of us.
We were not comfortable to go on terrain much over 30 degrees. when we left around one the snowpack was going isothermic. I'm going to give it a day off tomorrow and hope for more stable conditions on thursday.
Returning home in the afternoon I think I can see a crown on the hammer on mcdonald pk that looks like it happened during the storm on sunday night???
